How to wear your corset

For hundreds of years women have worn corsets underneath their clothing to create a new body shape.  Today, however, woman are embracing the sensual look that a corset gives and proudly showing off these garments as outerwear.  Here are a few tips on what to wear with your corset to ensure that the look you achieve is sultry and not slutty.

For a smart office outfit, wear a block coloured corset over a fitted t-shirt or shirt in a contrasting colour and team with well tailored trousers and a suit jacket.  By teaming your corset with a leather jacket or a boyfriend style blazer you can create the perfect getup for a lunch with the girls or day out.

In the evening, a pair of skinny jeans with your corset and killer heels will create that wow factor and, for that touch of extra sophistication, simply replace the jeans with a tight fitting pencil skirt.  You will not only look instantly slimmer but will definitely give Dita Von Tees a run for her money!

To create a dress, you can either wear your corset over a well fitted dress that puffs out at the bottom or team the corset with ruched skirt to create a similar affect that is unique and a little edgy.

Last but not least, don’t forget that corsets and basques are ultimately one of the sexiest items in your wardrobe and sometimes never have to leave the bedroom.  Try adding stockings, suspenders and heels to your favourite corset and watch that special someone’s jaw drop!
